Beddington Big Day 12th September 2026

Join us for the Beddington Farmlands Big Day on Saturday the 12th of September!

The Beddington Farm Bird Group and site warden are hosting a series of guided walks throughout the morning, providing an opportunity for the wider community to view areas of the site that are not currently visible from public areas.

The event starts at 7am, kicking off with a “Birds of Beddington” walk. Another bird walk follows at 10am, and then there is a Restoration Tour led by the site warden, which starts at 11am. Each walk will take around two hours.

September is well-known for being a great time of year for scarcer migrant species of birds to be recorded on passage at Beddington Farmlands, so there is always a chance for some decent highlights on the bird walks. Birds to hope for include Green and Common Sandpiper, Greenshank, Whinchat, and Wheatear.

Our Big Day also coincides with the wider Wandle Fornight event, which celebrates a variety of things associated with the Wandle Valley, including history, ecology, and of course the river itself.
